Too old for sex? Not at this nursing home.

Many older men and women are having romantic relationships into their 70s and 80s. Now, some nursing homes are acknowledging the fact.

Some have loosened daily regimens for a variety of activities, such as what to eat or when to bathe.

The next step, according to a story in the New York Times, is loosening the rules when it comes to sex.

One home, Hebrew Home at Riverdale, in New York, has stepped up efforts to help residents who are looking for relationships.

They have happy hours and a senior prom. There is even a dating service. about 40 of the homes 870 residents are involved in relationships.

But the issue raises questions. Some residents may not be capable of consenting to sex.

The Hebrew home has a sexual expression policy. It is intended to encourage intimacy among those who want it and to protect those who don’t.

The home says a few people have gone on dates through the dating service. No marriages have resulted as of yet.
