A story on careconversations.com lists three early warning signs that an aging loved one may need assistance.

  • Writing checks or paying money to unfamiliar people. If these payments are out of the norm or don’t make sense, they may indicate memory troubles or confused thinking.
  • Being uninterested in the things that used to be enjoyed. This can signal depression or physical pain.
  • Changed eating habits. A change in appetite can signal mental or physical problems.
